Discover the Tools You Need to Succeed at The University of Arizona in UI!
Undergraduate Initiatives provides students with tools for success by providing a structured environment for exploration of academic, personal and professional development and by nurturing the spirit of inquiry within each student. Through our academic retention programs, courses for credit, and services for students, we aspire to provide students with inspired guidance for each transitional stage of the undergraduate experience.
Among other programs, Undergraduate Initiatives is home to the New Start Summer Program, M.E.R.I.T.S. (Maximum Educational Results in Two Semesters), the MOSAIC Living/Learning Community, Student Support Services/TRiO, and the Dorrance Scholars. The office also coordinates the 3-credit course, LRC 297b: Connections: Making the Most of Your University Experience.
Undergraduate Intiatives is housed within the larger department of Multicultural Affairs and Student Success (or MASS) within the Division of Student Affairs at The University of Arizona.
