Financial Aid Counseling: Retentions Specialists can discuss the FAFSA and provide information on available scholarships and financial aid appeals
TRiO Learning Community: Students who participate in SSS become part of a social and educational community that is supportive and fun.
SSS Passport: Earn points toward valuable educational items like USB drives, planners, portfolios, highlighters, and more.
UI Student Lounge: The UI Lounge, located in Nugent 103, is a flexible student space for studying, meeting with PA’s and SC’s, relaxing and socializing.
Service & Leadership Development: SSS participants get involved in the community through service and mentoring projects, and often serve as “ambassadors” for our program at various campus events.
SSS Community Listservs: Stay informed of SSS & UA events, job opportunities, scholarships, special programs, and other news through our listserv.
Employment Opportunities: At least 50 percent of the SSS program staff are SSS participants! Become involved and gain valuable professional development skills by becoming a Peer Advisor, Skills Coach, or Student Coordinator.
Student Conference Sponsorships: Get valuable leadership training at the TRIO Leadership Conference and the National Collegiate Leadership Conference. Select students are sponsored free of charge.
